Thesis plotting, part 1

Themes which intrigue me lately:

humor

context

detail/complexity

myth/religion/literature

references to people (or figures)

intensity of effort/technique/focus

ambiguous symbols

history and how it influences or defines us (what do we use?  what hinders us?  what empowers us?)

Traps

getting so completely introspective that the artwork is irrelevant, obscure, and decorative

personal vs. private

committing to the idea too soon

fatal flaws (i.e. meticulous painting on wrong substrate)

biting off more than I can chew (more ambition or enthusiasm than common sense)
